Airy and quickening to the mind, nerves, and lungs

This page groups plants by their traditional hot, cold, moist or dry quality under the old humoral system of medicine. Wikipedia notes that "Galen supposed that a cold and wet thing could be used to treat an imbalance in a hot and dry organ," the reasoning this kind of plant classification rests on. Browsing by humoral temperament lets a visitor see which plants a historical healer would have reached for to correct a given imbalance.
