All Processional

A processional sacred dance is performed while moving along a fixed route, typically between or around sacred sites, so the movement through space is itself part of the rite rather than incidental to a performance held in one place. The Matachines dance recorded here, performed along a procession route in Mexican and southwestern Catholic feast day observance, is the example on file.
