Canonical

This page groups prayers by whether they exist as a fixed authorized text or as something composed anew each time. Wikipedia notes that "prayers may be recited from memory, read from a book of prayers, or composed spontaneously or 'impromptu'." Browsing by canonical status lets a visitor tell a prayer with one authorized wording apart from one whose wording varies every time it is said.
