The first forty surahs of the Quran in traditional mushaf order, from Al-Fatiha, the short opening chapter recited in every unit of prayer, through Ar-Rum. This range holds most of the longest surahs in the Quran, including Al-Baqara, the longest chapter of all, and several of the surahs traditionally read as Medinan, revealed after the migration to Medina, alongside earlier Meccan material; the range is drawn from the surah's position in the standard mushaf ordering rather than from its date or place of revelation, since no live revelation-place data is recorded against these entities in this atlas.
