All Sculpture

Groups the artwork entries that are sculpture in the round or in high relief: monumental images of the Buddha, devotional Christian and Jain statuary, and Roman imperial relief, spanning traditions from Buddhism to the Roman state cult. Belongs here: any freestanding or high relief sculptural work depicting a figure or subject the atlas documents. Does not belong here: painted panels and murals, however devotional, which are grouped under their own headings.
