Chachy

Siberian Deities

Chachy is a female deity of the Itelmens of Kamchatka, credited in their tradition with outstanding intellectual insight said to surpass that of her husband, the raven creator Kutkh. The couple are held to have given birth to sons and daughters at the region's great rivers, and the Itelmen people trace their own ancestry to this divine union.
