Sikh Orders and Jathas

Gathers the jathas, or organized bands, and the reform and revivalist orders of Sikhism, including the Akhand Kirtani Jatha's discipline of collective devotional singing, the Nihang warrior order descending from Guru Gobind Singh's own irregular cavalry, the Namdhari and Nirankari reform movements, and the Udasi akharas whose ascetic practice blends Sikh and Hindu observance under a lineage tracing to Guru Nanak's own son. A member belongs here for its own institutional identity within the Sikh tradition, whether orthodox, reformist or syncretic, distinct from the individual Sikh historical figures catalogued elsewhere.
