Khufiyya, meaning the silent ones, is a tariqa of Chinese Islam and the first Sufi order to be established in China. Along with the Jahriyya, Qadiriyya and Kubrawiyya, it is acknowledged as one of the four orders of Chinese Sufism, dwelling mainly in Northwest China, especially Gansu, and following the Hanafi school of jurisprudence. Traditional belief within the order holds Abu Bakr as its originator, and its doctrines are influenced by a Confucian approach to expounding Muslim sacred texts known as Yiru Quanjing.
