Sufi Ruhaniat International

Sufi Ruhaniat International is an initiatic order within the Inayati-Chishtiyya tradition, describing itself as a stream of Universal Sufism drawing inspiration from Sufi traditions within and beyond historic Islam. It was founded by Sufi Ahmed Murad Chisti, born Samuel L. Lewis, a disciple of Inayat Khan, who formally established it in November 1970 as the Sufi Islamia Ruhaniat Society shortly before his death in 1971; the order took its current name in 2002. Moineddin Jablonski directed the organization from 1971 to 2001 and Shabda Kahn has served as its Pir since 2001, and the order maintains centers across the United States, Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, known in particular for the Dances of Universal Peace it developed in the late 1960s and for specialized branches including the Dervish Healing Order.
