The Hejaz, also spelled Hijaz, is a historical region of the Arabian Peninsula covering most of the western part of modern Saudi Arabia, bordered by the Red Sea to the west, Jordan and the Gulf of Aqaba to the north, the Najd to the east and South Arabia to the south. It includes the cities of Mecca, Medina, Jeddah, Tabuk, Yanbu, Taif and Al-Bahah.
