Atlas Trail
The Sabian Symbols of Aries, Degrees Two to Thirteen
This path follows the second through thirteenth degrees of Aries, the first two decans of the sign, as the Sabian images carry the newly emerged self from self-observation toward relationship, aspiration and social form. Each stop notes the Egyptian term and decan ruler that the atlas records for its degree, so the symbolic story can be read against the older Hellenistic divisions.

Aries 2 pairs the image of the comedian with the first power of objectivity: the self that has emerged can now stand back and smile at human behavior. It lies in Jupiter's term and the First Decan, ruled by Mars.
Stop 2 of 12.
Sabian Symbols
Aries 3 shows private identity discovered as part of a larger collective form, in the image of a cameo profile that suggests the shape of a whole country. The atlas records it in Jupiter's term, First Decan of Aries.
Stop 3 of 12.
Sabian Symbols
Aries 4 turns to polarity, with two lovers on a secluded walk picturing the way raw Aries force learns to relate rather than only assert. It remains in Jupiter's term and under Mars as decan ruler.
Stop 4 of 12.
Sabian Symbols
Aries 5 lifts a stable triangle into flight with wings, an image of self-transcendence: a balanced structure of spirit, mind and form that rises above its own plane. Its term ruler is still Jupiter.
Stop 5 of 12.
Sabian Symbols
Aries 6 is the lit side of a square, the wish to become a definite and stable person while three sides of the self remain in shadow. It is the last degree of Jupiter's term, Aries 1 to 6.
Stop 6 of 12.
Sabian Symbols
Aries 7 opens Venus's term with a man expressing himself in two realms at once, the first grasp that life runs through both the material and the spiritual. The atlas still places it in the First Decan.
Stop 7 of 12.
Sabian Symbols
Aries 8 offers a large woman's hat with streamers blown by an east wind, an image of protection and gentle spiritual guidance over the growth of consciousness. Venus rules its term.
Stop 8 of 12.
Sabian Symbols
Aries 9 gives a crystal gazer who gathers scattered perception into a single point of vision, turning the outgoing Aries impulse inward for the first time. Venus rules its term and Mars the First Decan.
Stop 9 of 12.
Sabian Symbols
Aries 10 shows a teacher giving new symbolic forms to traditional images, so that renewal is read as reinterpretation rather than destruction. It is the last degree the atlas places in the First Decan before the rule passes to the Sun.
Stop 10 of 12.
Sabian Symbols
Aries 11 crosses into the Second Decan, ruled by the Sun, with a ruler of a nation as the point where a shared need for order is concentrated in one directing person. Venus's term still governs the degree.
Stop 11 of 12.
Sabian Symbols
Aries 12 closes Venus's term with a triangular flight of wild geese, living beings arranged by an unseen pattern, lifting the individual impulse toward a sense of cosmic design.
Stop 12 of 12.
Sabian Symbols
Aries 13 ends the path with an unexploded bomb that reveals a failed protest, warning that genuine change needs maturity and preparation. It opens Mercury's term, Aries 13 to 20, in the Second Decan.
