All White Tiger of the West (Chinese Xiu Mansions)

The seven lunar mansions of the west, which Chinese astronomers placed under the White Tiger, the western guardian among the Four Symbols that mark the cardinal directions along the ecliptic. They are Legs, Bond, Stomach, Hairy Head, Net, Turtle Beak and Three Stars and each marks a stretch of the sky the Moon crosses on its monthly journey. In the system that links the four creatures to the five phases, the White Tiger of the West represents Metal, so these seven mansions share the tiger's direction and element.
