The threefold ethical formula at the center of Zoroastrian practice: good thoughts, good words and good deeds, rendered in Avestan as humata, hukhta, huvarshta. The three terms are held to align a person with Asha, the cosmic order Zoroastrian scripture holds Ahura Mazda upholds, against Druj, the Lie, the destructive principle opposing it, and the formula is recited daily in Zoroastrian prayer as a summary of the religion's entire ethical teaching.
