All Aegean Script Family (Scripts and Alphabets)

Writing systems of the Bronze Age Aegean, the syllabic scripts of Crete and the Greek mainland that were used by palace administrations before the alphabet arrived. Linear A remains undeciphered, while Linear B was shown to record an early form of Greek, so the family joins a decoded script with one still unread. Clay tablets from palace archives at Knossos and Pylos are the main surviving record of their use, mostly inventories and accounts rather than literature. Members placed here so far include Linear B, Linear A.
