Wikipedia notes that in Anglicanism alone "there are presently thirteen active religious orders for men, fifty-three for women, and eight mixed gender." Browsing by practice status lets a visitor tell a living order apart from one that has since died out.FactsLiving tradition, practised todaySourcesComments (0)Reader Challenges (0)FactsDirectoryCategoryWell-attestedReligious Orders 1Living tradition, practised todayFilter Results32 entriesRooted InAllAnglican Communion (27)Originated InAllAustralia (2)United Kingdom (8)United States (1)Origin Period Start YearAll1626 (1)1848 (1)1849 (1)1852 (1)1855 (3)1865 (1)1866 (1)1870 (1)1882 (1)1884 (2)1892 (1)1893 (1)1894 (1)1897 (1)1905 (1)1915 (1)1950 (1)1961 (1)1969 (1)1980 (1)1985 (1)1999 (1)Liturgical LanguageAllEnglish (32)Ordination PracticeAllVowed Religious Profession (not ordained) (32)Doctrinal PositionAllAnglican Via Media (32)TraditionAllAnglicanism (32)Kind of orderAllAnglican Religious Communities (30)Who may joinAllMen Only (2)Women Only (14)ApostolateAllCharitable and Medical Work (32)Contemplative or Monastic Prayer (32)Missionary Work (1)Preaching (2)Teaching and Education (3)Show ResultsBrowseCompareSelect all 32Anglican CisterciansLiving tradition, practised todayAnglican Order of PreachersLiving tradition, practised todayBrotherhood of Saint GregoryLiving tradition, practised todayBush BrotherhoodLiving tradition, practised todayCommunity of All HallowsLiving tradition, practised todayCommunity of St AndrewLiving tradition, practised todayCommunity of St John BaptistLiving tradition, practised todayCommunity of St Mary the VirginLiving tradition, practised todayCommunity of St. ClareLiving tradition, practised todayCommunity of the Holy NameLiving tradition, practised todayCommunity of the ResurrectionLiving tradition, practised todayCommunity of the Sisters of MelanesiaLiving tradition, practised todayCommunity of the Sisters of the ChurchLiving tradition, practised todayLittle GiddingLiving tradition, practised todayOrder of Julian of NorwichLiving tradition, practised todayOrder of St Benedict (Anglican)Living tradition, practised todayOrder of St CuthbertLiving tradition, practised todayOrder of the Companions of Martha and MaryLiving tradition, practised todayOrder of the Holy CrossLiving tradition, practised todayOrder of the Holy ParacleteLiving tradition, practised todaySociety of King Charles the MartyrLiving tradition, practised todaySociety of Ordained ScientistsLiving tradition, practised todaySociety of Our Lady of the IslesLiving tradition, practised todaySociety of Saint MargaretLiving tradition, practised todaySociety of St John the EvangelistLiving tradition, practised todaySociety of the Companions of the Holy CrossLiving tradition, practised todaySociety of the Holy and Undivided TrinityLiving tradition, practised todaySociety of the Holy CrossLiving tradition, practised todaySociety of the Precious BloodLiving tradition, practised todaySociety of the Sacred AdventLiving tradition, practised todaySociety of the Sacred MissionLiving tradition, practised todaySociety of the Sisters of BethanyLiving tradition, practised todaySources1.
