The Community of St Clare is a Franciscan Anglican religious order of nuns, representing the Second Order of the Anglican Franciscan movement and commonly called the Poor Clares, founded in 1950 and based at Freeland, near Witney, Oxfordshire, England. Its sisters live an enclosed, contemplative life, supporting themselves through activities including sewing, painting, printing and manufacturing altar breads, and they operate a guest house and retreat center at their convent. The community forms part of the broader Franciscan movement within the Anglican Communion and is associated with the Society of Saint Francis.
