The Community of the Sisters of Melanesia is the third order for women established in the Church of Melanesia, serving the Anglican Church in the Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. It was founded in the late 1960s by Nesta Tiboe, who envisioned a sisterhood modeled on the ideals and structure of the male Melanesian Brotherhood, as a response to earlier women's communities in the region including the defunct Sisters of the Holy Cross and the Community of the Sisters of the Church. Headquartered at Verana'aso in Maravovo, Western Guadalcanal, with additional households in Honiara, CDC, Auki and South Malaita, the community numbered approximately 110 professed sisters and more than 50 novices at the time of its most recent published account.
