639 Hz, the Fourth Core Solfeggio Tone

639 Hz is the fourth of the six core Solfeggio frequencies, and in the sound-healing literature it is the tone associated with the heart centre and with "connecting relationships", harmony, communication and reconciliation between people. As with the whole set, this is a modern attribution within a twentieth-century system: the six core frequencies were assembled by Joseph Puleo and popularised from 1999 through a numerological reading, not recovered from any historical chant, and the borrowed solfege name carries no genuine link to the medieval scale, which had no fixed pitch in hertz.

The frequencies are typically arranged as an ascending ladder mapped onto the chakra centres, a mapping that is itself a modern overlay joining the equally modern rainbow-chakra scheme to the Solfeggio set.
