Arfaolg is one of the twelve Zodiacal Kings of Liber Scientiae, Auxilii et Victoriae Terrestris, the tabulation John Dee drew from the angelic sessions he held with Edward Kelley in 1584 and 1585. The manuscript shares the ninety-one Parts of the Earth, the Enochian Governors, among twelve Kings tied to the tribes of Israel, and Arfaolg, governing the tribe of Ephraim, receives fifteen Parts, the largest single share of any King, an imbalance the received material never explains.
Arfaolg's Parts range across fourteen different Aethyrs, from PAZ, the fourth, to TEX, the thirtieth and innermost. They include Pothnir, in PAZ, assigned to Kushan among the Central Asian lands; Vavaamp, in MAZ, the sixth, assigned to Cyprus, one of the few Parts given to an island; Chirzpa, opening ASP, the twenty-first, assigned to Brytania, Dee's own Britain; Gmziam, completing RII, the twenty-ninth, assigned to Bactriani, Bactria; and Taoagla, opening TEX itself. The remaining ten Parts, Ooanamb, Tastoxo, Sochial, Yalpamb, Torzoxi, Ozidaia, Calzirg, Ranglam, Pophand and Bazchim, complete the fifteen across the fourteenth, fifteenth, sixteenth, eighteenth, nineteenth, twenty-second and twenty-sixth Aethyrs.
Arfaolg's zodiac sign, like every King's, is a later reconstruction set over the tribe of Ephraim, since the angelic sessions themselves record no sign and give no rule for deriving one. Arfaolg is distinct from the seven Kings of the Heptarchia, an unrelated weekday system recorded separately in De Heptarchia Mystica.
