Badan Wakaf Indonesia's own live national registry recorded 435,768 registered waqf land locations across Indonesia, totaling 277,203 hectares, of which 366,595 locations carried a formal land certificate, as read from the regulator's public dashboard. That figure counts registered land parcels; it is not a monetary valuation, and the dashboard is a continuously updated live counter rather than a fixed annual snapshot.
Separately, BWI chairman Kamaruddin Amin stated on 21 July 2025 that Indonesia's national waqf potential reaches nearly 400 trillion rupiah a year, including 181 trillion rupiah from cash waqf alone, spread across some 451,000 locations. That is a stated potential for what waqf could generate if productively managed, not a valuation of assets currently held or an audited figure, and it sits well above what Indonesia's registered waqf activity actually reports collecting today.
Reading the two figures together shows the gap between what BWI's registry documents today and what Indonesian officials say the waqf sector could become: a live count of certificated land on one side, an aspirational estimate on the other.
