Casa de Repouso da Grande Harmonia is a rest home in Ibiuna, in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil, run under Seicho-no-Ie do Brasil's Cabinet of Social Assistance and Philanthropy. Its residents are not the general elderly public: the home exists specifically for elders recognized for lives of dedication to the Seicho-no-Ie movement, a criterion for admission that ties the institution directly to service within the religion rather than to age or need alone.
The home was registered as a legal entity on 12 April 2002, seven years before it opened its doors, and was inaugurated on 14 March 2009 with fourteen residential units built for a capacity of twenty four residents. It provides physician, physiotherapy, nutrition, dental, psychology and social work services alongside recreational and spiritual activities, a service list closer to an assisted-living facility than to a simple retirement home.
The seven year gap between legal registration and inauguration suggests a deliberate, unhurried building process, one Seicho-no-Ie do Brasil carried through to completion under its own Cabinet of Social Assistance and Philanthropy rather than an outside operator.
