The movements of Judaism

This group gathers the main movements of Judaism, particularly as they developed in the modern period in response to emancipation and modernity. Judaism is both a religion and a people, and its denominations differ mainly over the authority and interpretation of Jewish law (halakha).

The browser will find Orthodox Judaism (including its Haredi and Modern Orthodox forms and the Hasidic movements), Conservative (Masorti) Judaism, Reform Judaism, and smaller and older streams. The atlas describes each movement's stance on law, tradition and change without privileging any as normative.
