The First Pinnacle

The Pinnacles are four periods into which modern numerology divides the life, each marked by a number that names its dominant lesson and opportunity, and the First Pinnacle is the earliest, running from birth to the age at which the first period closes. It is calculated by reducing the birth month and birth day and adding them, and it describes the theme of the opening stretch of adult life. The four Pinnacles together map the arc of the life as a sequence of developmental phases, the numbers changing as the native passes from one to the next, complementing the three broader Cycles and the Challenges that run alongside them.

The Pinnacle scheme is part of the Pythagorean numerology assembled in the United States in the early twentieth century, an elaboration of the core system by Balliett, Jordan and later writers such as those who refined the timing methods; it is modern, and like the rest of the system it is called Pythagorean by convention rather than by descent from antiquity.
