Run Gabriel through all three attribution systems in this collection and the answers line up. He is the Moon in the planetary table. He is Yesod in the sephirotic table, and Yesod is the lunar sphere. He is Water in the elemental table, and Water is the lunar element in the classical scheme. No other archangel here survives that test: Michael comes out solar, fiery and mercurial, and Raphael comes out mercurial, airy and solar.
That makes Gabriel the control case, and control cases are useful. Where two systems agree about an angel, the agreement can be read as a shared inheritance and the attribution treated as reasonably stable. Where they disagree, the disagreement is itself the finding, and a source that reports one side without naming its system is concealing something.
The fit is legible rather than arbitrary. Yesod is the foundation through which everything above reaches the material world, the Moon reflects a light it does not make, and Gabriel's entire scriptural function is to carry a message that originates elsewhere. Water receives and takes the shape of what holds it. The west is where the light goes down. All of it says the same thing about a transmitter rather than a source.
One caution against reading too much into the agreement. Both the sephirotic and the elemental tables were assembled by people who already knew the planetary one, so consistency here is evidence of a shared starting point, not of independent confirmation.
