The Harvest Cycle

The Harvest or Third Cycle is the last of the three life-cycles of modern numerology, governing the later years, the period of fruition and reflection. It is calculated from the reduced year of birth, and it describes the influences and lessons of the final span of life, the harvest of what the earlier cycles have sown, the Formative from the birth month and the Productive from the birth day having preceded it.

The name captures the sense of a season of gathering-in and of the rewards or reckonings of the whole life coming due. Like the other two cycles it belongs to the Pythagorean numerology assembled in the United States in the first decades of the twentieth century by Balliett, Jordan and their successors; it is a modern elaboration of the digit-reduction system, and the label Pythagorean it shares with the rest of that apparatus is a borrowing of authority rather than a record of descent from antiquity.
