Hizb 8 closes Al-i-Imran with a celebrated meditation on creation, describing those of understanding who reflect on the heavens and earth and remember God in every posture, standing, sitting, and lying on their sides, a passage frequently cited on its own for its description of contemplative faith rather than legal instruction. The sura ends by urging patience, steadfastness and readiness, addressed to a community that has just endured the reflection on Uhud carried in the previous hizb.
The hizb then opens An-Nisa, the Women, beginning with instruction on the just treatment of orphans and their property, warning guardians against consuming what belongs to those in their care. From there it moves to the permission for plural marriage, explicitly tied to the condition of dealing justly especially with orphans under a guardian's care, and to inheritance law, setting out shares for male and female heirs in more explicit detail than any earlier sura in the Quran had done.
Hizb 8 ends at verse 23 of An-Nisa, having just listed the degrees of kinship, mahram relations, within which marriage is forbidden, a legal catalogue the next hizb continues directly.
Read together, the closing meditation on creation and the opening orphan and inheritance law form an unusually sharp juxtaposition even by the standards of the Quran's Medinan suras, moving in a single hizb from contemplative address to detailed family legislation without any transitional passage bridging the two.
