The Greek letters

This group holds the letters of the Greek alphabet, the first true alphabet to represent vowels as well as consonants and the script of Greek philosophy, science and the New Testament. The Greek letters carry their own numerical values and have gathered symbolic uses, from the Alpha and Omega of Christian imagery to their role in mathematics and esoteric lore.

The browser will find the individual letters and their meanings. The entries describe each letter's sound, numerical value and the associations attached to it.
