The Productive Cycle

The Productive or Second Cycle is the middle of the three life-cycles of modern numerology, covering the long central span of adulthood, the years of greatest activity and output. It is calculated from the reduced day of birth, and it describes the influences and lessons of the productive middle period, framed between the Formative Cycle of youth, taken from the birth month, and the Harvest Cycle of later life, taken from the birth year.

Because it derives from the day of birth it shares its number with the Birthday indicator, tying the productive years to the particular gift of the day. The three-cycle scheme is a feature of the Pythagorean system of numerology built in the United States from around 1900 by L. Dow Balliett and codified by Juno Jordan; it is a modern construction, part of the digit-reduction apparatus conventionally called Pythagorean without any documented link to Pythagoras or to antiquity.
