GAA reported development portfolio expenditure exceeding 2.5 billion Saudi riyals by the end of 2024, funding more than 250 initiatives carried out with over 200 partners across its seven portfolio areas: pilgrim experience, mosques, environment and water, housing, education, health and vulnerable populations. In the first half of 2024 alone it signed 23 agreements with government and endowment bodies worth more than 4 billion riyals, a pace of agreement-signing that outran the full year's reported spending figure.
Separately from GAA's own direct spending, the net assets of Saudi Arabia's licensed endowment investment funds, a wider category GAA regulates rather than owns outright, passed 1 billion riyals for the first time in 2024, roughly double the prior year, with five new fund licenses granted during the same period, a distinct growth story from GAA's own development portfolio.
