The Second Pinnacle

The Second Pinnacle is the next of the four life-periods of modern numerology after the first, covering a middle stretch of the adult years. It is calculated by reducing the birth day and the birth year and adding them, and it names the dominant lesson and opportunity of its span. The Pinnacles are held to succeed one another at intervals determined by the Life Path number, each opening a new phase with its own numerical colour, so that the native moves through four themed periods across the lifetime. The Second Pinnacle typically governs the years of establishing oneself in the world, between the opening phase and the long third period.

Like the whole Pinnacle apparatus it belongs to the Pythagorean numerology built in the United States from around 1900 and refined by later twentieth-century writers; it is a modern timing method layered onto the core numbers, and the Pythagorean name it carries reflects the convention of the system rather than any ancient origin.
