Among the events Selina Fenech names as defining her life, two sit apart from her art career entirely: she names surviving cancer and finding ancient Roman treasure as notable personal events, brief, striking details her main biography, built around her teenage online gallery and her rise as a full time artist, does not otherwise cover.
Her illustration work also extends into other authors' card decks rather than only her own books and licensing lines: she illustrated Lucy Cavendish's Oracle of the Mermaids and Wild Wisdom of the Faery Oracle, placing her fantasy art style, worked chiefly in oil painting and digital media by an artist of Maltese descent, inside a divination practice she did not conceive herself, a collaborative credit distinct from the novels and merchandise licensing built around her own name.
That licensing reach is now substantial on its own terms: her art appears on merchandise in more than fifty countries, and she now also produces colouring books alongside her paintings and novels, a third published format built from the same recurring fairy, mermaid, unicorn and dragon imagery. She gives monthly to Oxfam, Greening Australia and Amnesty International, directing part of that commercial reach toward international poverty relief, Australian conservation and human rights work rather than keeping the proceeds of a fantasy art career entirely separate from any wider cause.
