The Smallest Deck in Kyle Gray's Catalogue
The 22 Archangels Oracle is a twenty two card deck Kyle Gray created with artwork by Jennifer Hawkyard, published by Hay House in 2024. At twenty two cards it is the smallest deck in Gray's catalogue by a wide margin, exactly half the card count of Angel Prayers, his first Hay House deck, and less than half that of Angels and Ancestors. Its organizing system is narrower too: rather than mixing angels with ancestors or drawing on named historical figures the way Keepers of the Light does, every card is built around one of twenty two archangels, some widely known within angel focused spirituality and others more obscure, giving the deck a single, consistently scoped unit across its entire structure.
Jennifer Hawkyard's artwork also illustrates Gray's The Angel Guide Oracle, published four years earlier, placing the two decks in the same visual family within his catalogue even as their organizing systems differ, one addressed to a named archangel per card, the other offering more general angelic guidance. As the most recent entry in Gray's oracle catalogue, The 22 Archangels Oracle continues the upright only reading convention that has run through his work for Hay House since Angel Prayers, keeping that structural choice consistent across a decade of decks even as the subject matter each deck organizes around has continued to change.
