The World Zoroastrian Organisation is a UK-registered charity acting as an umbrella body for Zoroastrians worldwide, working to communicate the message of Zarathushtra and Zoroastrianism and to improve the circumstances of needy Zoroastrians across the wider diaspora. It was formed by a group of concerned Zoroastrians led by Shahpur Captain, responding to the urgent need to assist displaced Iranian Zoroastrians resettling in the West, and was incorporated on 1 August 1980, headquartered at World Zoroastrian House in Feltham, near Heathrow, London, within reach of the Zoroastrian communities its founders were working from the outset to assist.
It operates today as a membership-based organisation with associated bodies in India, the United States, Canada and New Zealand, funding grants to individuals and affiliated organizations across the UK, Canada, Georgia, India, the Netherlands, Pakistan and the United States. Its stated charitable objectives span poverty relief, education and sickness relief for Zoroastrians worldwide, alongside the provision of burial grounds for the faith itself.
