Cat Spirits (Mythical Creatures)

Japanese cat spirits that have gained supernatural power, such as the bakeneko and the nekomata, which can change shape and haunt households. An entry belongs here when its article describes a spirit cat. The group page lists related creatures together so that a reader can compare how one kind of being appears across cultures and stories. Entries are placed by what their own article says, so each one sits in the narrowest group that its source supports, and the group page lists it beside the other members.
