Brothers of the Poor of St. Francis

The Brothers of the Poor of St. Francis, formally the Poor Brothers of the Seraphic St. Francis (Latin: Congregatio Fratrum Pauperum Sancti Francisci Seraphici), are a Catholic lay religious congregation of Pontifical Right for men, belonging to the Third Order Regular of St. Francis. The congregation was instituted on December 24, 1857, by Brother John Hover, born Philip Martin, for charitable work among orphan boys and for youth education.
