Christian Art

Sacred artwork depicting Christian subjects across the many denominations, eras and regions the tradition spans: Catholic and Orthodox icons and altarpieces, Ethiopian and Church of the East manuscript gospels, Anabaptist devotional textiles and Latter Day Saint window design among them. Belongs here: a work whose subject is Christ, a saint, a biblical scene or event, or a Christian rite or institution. Does not belong here: an Old Testament figure rendered by a non-Christian tradition, or a classical mythological subject merely painted by a Christian era artist, grouped under Greco-Roman Art.
