Apocalypse and Last Judgement in Christian Art

Works of Christian art depicting the Book of Revelation, the Last Judgement and its criteria, and angels and archangels considered on their own terms rather than as a supporting presence in another scene. Includes Saint John writing on Patmos, the Antichrist of Revelation, the Seven Works of Mercy that come from Christ's own account of the Last Judgement in the Gospel of Matthew, Saint Michael the Archangel, the fallen angel Lucifer, the archangels Gabriel, Jophiel and Chamuel individually portrayed, and a depiction of all seven archangels together. A saint who merely appears with an angel in a narrative scene, such as Saint Matthew and the Angel, stays with that saint's own scene instead.
