Pink

Pink is the colour recorded in this atlas under the gemstone colour value pink, for stones whose body colour is a pale red. Wikipedia describes pink as a pale tint of red or rose, the color of the pink flower, and says it was first used as a color name in the late 17th century. It is kept apart from the separately recorded Rose colour so that pink stones such as pink sapphire, rose quartz or morganite can be compared under one identity. It is recorded as its own colour entity so that the gemstones of this colour can be grouped and compared in one place, while each gemstone entry keeps its own colour fact and sources.
