Origin from 1991
The Brief Statement of Faith is a confession adopted by the Presbyterian Church (USA) in 1991 as part of its Book of Confessions, produced in connection with the 1983 reunion of the United Presbyterian Church in the United States of America and the Presbyterian Church in the United States. Its preface states that the statement intends to confess the catholic faith, combining an ecumenical and Trinitarian structure with Reformed and Protestant emphases, and it addresses contemporary concerns including inclusive language for God, sexism, racism and environmental stewardship.
