Creed of Jerusalem

Early Christian

The Creed of Jerusalem is a baptismal formula used by early Christians to confess their faith, attributed to Cyril of Jerusalem and dated by some scholars, including Philip Schaff, to around 350 CE. Cyril records its wording in his nineteenth Catechetical Lecture as I believe in the Father, and in the Son, and in the Holy Ghost, and in one Baptism of repentance, and some scholars have argued that it was a source drawn on when the Nicene-Constantinopolitan Creed was established at the First Council of Constantinople in 381.
