The Words of My Perfect Teacher is a nineteenth century Nyingma lamrim (stages of the path) text composed by Patrul Rinpoche (1808 to 1887), presenting the preliminary practices (ngondro) of the Longchen Nyingtig tradition through a combination of doctrinal instruction and memorable, often humorous, illustrative stories. It remains one of the single most widely used and translated manuals of foundational Tibetan Buddhist practice, assigned as introductory reading across Nyingma centers well beyond Tibet.
