Devi and the Mahavidyas

The Great Goddess tradition of Hinduism, including Shakti as the abstract divine feminine power and cosmic energy underlying the goddess tradition as a whole, the warrior goddess Durga and her fierce form Kali, other major independent goddess forms such as Chamunda, Annapurna, Lalita Tripurasundari and the fierce goddess Pratyangira, and the ten Mahavidyas, a specific tantric grouping of wisdom goddesses comprising Kali, Tara, Chhinnamasta, Bhuvaneshvari, Bagalamukhi, Dhumavati, Matangi, Kamala, Bhairavi and Tripurasundari, several of which are counted here individually as their own live entities.
