East African and Nilotic Pantheons

The divine orders of the peoples of East Africa and the upper Nile, among them the Maasai, Kikuyu, Luo, Ganda, Lugbara, Shilluk, Dinka and Nuer, whose religions centre on a sky or creator god, ancestors and, for the Nilotic cattle peoples, kingship and cattle. A pantheon belongs here when its cited article describes the beliefs of a people of Kenya, Uganda, Sudan or South Sudan. It excludes the peoples of Central and Southern Africa and of West Africa.
