Eastern Movements (New Religious Movements)

New religious movements that grew out of Hindu, Buddhist or other Asian traditions and spread as distinct organisations, such as Aum Shinrikyo, the Brahma Kumaris and the Rajneesh movement. An entry belongs here when its article places its origin in an Asian tradition. It excludes the syncretic movements that blend several sources. The group page lists movements of the same origin side by side so that a reader can compare how new religions arise from older traditions.
