Possessing Spirits (Mythical Creatures)

Spirits that enter and control living people, such as the Jewish dybbuk and ibbur, the Thai phi pop and the zar spirits of North and East Africa and the Middle East. An entry belongs here when its article describes a spirit that takes over a human host. The group page lists related creatures together so that a reader can compare how one kind of being appears across cultures and stories. Entries are placed by what their own article says, so each one sits in the narrowest group that its source supports, and the group page lists it beside the other members.
