Unitarian and Universalist Churches

The historic Unitarian and Universalist church bodies recorded in this atlas, the American Unitarian Association formed in 1825 by New England congregations that embraced Unitarian doctrines and the Universalist Church of America, which held that a loving God will save everyone, and which consolidated with it in 1961 to form the Unitarian Universalist Association. This group holds American Unitarian Association, Universalist Church of America. Unitarianism and Universalism both began as liberal Christian traditions; the merged association, recorded in this atlas as its own religion, now draws on many world religions and philosophies.
