Eyvindur P. Eiríksson

Eyvindur Pétur Eiríksson (born 13 December 1935) is an Icelandic writer of poetry, novels and plays that address concerns about modern alienation and the relationship between man and nature, often approached with dark humour; his novel Landið handan fjarskans received the Halldór Laxness Literary Prize and was nominated for the Icelandic Literary Prize in 1997. He worked as a teacher and in Icelandic radio and television before writing became his main occupation, and he is a regional leader within the neopagan organisation Ásatrúarfélagið.
