Jamshedji Sorab Kukadaru

Jamshedji Sorab Kukadaru (26 May 1831 to 4 October 1900) was a Zoroastrian priest in Mumbai, India, revered by Zoroastrians for a number of miracles he is believed to have performed. He was known by his contemporaries for his simple lifestyle and asceticism and for his strict adherence to priestly purity rules, and is said to have spent most of his life in prayer. He was also reputed as an astrologer, valued for his healing and divination, and is reported to have prophesied several events, including the deaths of certain people such as Empress Victoria. Though he held only the rank of Ervad, a mid level ritual priest, during his lifetime, the honorific title Dastur was granted to him after his death by the priest Jamasp-Asa at his funeral prayers, an unprecedented honor.
