Philip Carr-Gomm

Philip Carr-Gomm (born 1952 in London) is a British Druid leader, psychologist and author who served as Chosen Chief of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids from 1988 to 2020. He met the Druid teacher Ross Nichols at age eleven and joined the order at eighteen, later studying psychology and training as a psychosynthesis therapist. After being appointed to lead the order in 1988 he organized its teachings into a distance learning course and built it, over his thirty two years as Chosen Chief, into what is described as the largest Druid teaching order in the world, before being succeeded by Eimear Burke in 2021. He has written numerous books on Druidry, psychology and spirituality and developed what he called Druidcraft, combining elements of Druidry and Wicca.
