Pierre de Berulle was a French Catholic priest, cardinal and statesman who lived from 1575 to 1629. He was the founder of the French school of spirituality and counted Vincent de Paul and Francis de Sales among his disciples, although both went on to develop significantly different spiritual theologies; he was also the founder of the Oratory of Jesus.
